Cereal Milk Cupcakes

One of my favorite milkshake recipes is my Cereal Milk Milkshakes. It is SO damn good! I think I love the taste of fruity cereal, just not in cereal form. So I thought I would take the same fruity taste and pour it into a cupcake and I made these Cereal Milk Cupcakes which have just a hint of cereal milk flavor in them. And you know what’s great? I made them using a box mix. Sometimes you just don’t have time to measure out that shit! Am I right? So, I just substituted the cereal milk for the vegetable oil in the recipe and I swear the cupcakes taste so much better! Also, I strained out all the soggy cereal, but I suppose you could go for a cereal funfetti look and leave some of it in and bake it into the cupcake! Someone try it and let me know if it’s any good! Since I don’t really think you need a recipe for box mix cupcakes, here’s the quick and dirty instructions: Pour half as much more milk than the recipe calls for into a bowl and then fill it with fruity cereal. Let it soak in the fridge for 20-30 minutes and infuse the milk with cereal flavor. Strain out the soggy cereal (Over a bowl! Don’t forget to save the milk! The first time I did this, I almost strained the milk over the sink … which would have been dumb.) and then measure out the amount of milk you need for the recipe and keep following the instructions on the back of the box. If you want, you can save any leftover milk to use in your favorite frosting recipe. Then simply sprinkle some extra cereal on top as garnish. That’s it!
