Donut:

  • flour
  • granulated sugar
  • baking powder
  • salt
  • egg
  • vanilla
  • lemonade
  • lemon
  • butter
  • mint extract

Bourbon Glaze:

  • powdered sugar
  • bourbon
  • milk
  • vanilla
  • salt

Mint Julep Donuts

Mint Julep Donuts

Ingredients

  • Donut:
  • 1 cup flour, sifted
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ⅓ cup lemonade
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 Tb butter
  • 1 tsp mint extract
  • Bourbon Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 1 T bourbon
  • 1 T milk
  • ¼ tsp vanilla
  • ⅛ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 350 F.
  2. Next, cream your butter and granulated sugar in your stand mixer and mix on medium-low.
  3. Then add in 1 beaten egg.
  4. Next, add your lemonade, lemon juice, vanilla and mint extract.
  5. Then mix together your flour, baking powder, and salt and slowly add it into the mixture.
  6. Once everything is incorporated, add ¼ cup of batter to each greased well in your donut pan.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350 F.
  8. While the donuts bake, whisk together all of the ingredients for the bourbon glaze.
  9. When the donuts are done baking, let them sit in the donut pan for 1 minute before removing, then allow them to cool.
  10. Once cool, drizzle with the bourbon glaze and garnish with a sprig of mint.
