How to Set Up a Houseguest Coffee Station

I have a few friends coming to visit us this summer and whether they wake up before me or whether I leave for the gym before they wake up, I want to make sure that when my guests do wake up, they can make coffee. I want visiting friends and family to feel like they’re at home, and if they were at home, they would make their OWN coffee, so I’m sharing my tutorial on How to Set Up a Houseguest Coffee Station. Set up a coffee station for your visiting friends and family so they feel right at home! // saltycanary.com

How to Set Up a Houseguest Coffee Station

Making coffee at my house means you have to find the coffee, the coffee filters, the coffee maker, the coffee mugs, and of course cream and sugar. That’s a lot of drawers, cabinets, the fridge, and the sugar canister. So when a friend comes for a visit, I’ve started to put together a Houseguest Coffee Station so everything is all in one place. Well, except for the creamer, I’ll keep that stored safely in the fridge and just include a note in my instructions letting them know where to find it.

My coffee station has a pretty unique coffee maker, but it’s so pretty, I just had to have it! If it’s sold out, here’s a link to a very similar version. Or a Chemex is also gorgeous!

And my kitty coffee mug?!? All the heart eyes for it!

But I think any coffee maker is unusual if it’s not the one you use at home, so I included a little list of instructions so guests know what to do. I also set out plenty of coffee mugs so they don’t have to search through my kitchen cabinets.

Since not everyone likes to drink their coffee black, I also set out some sugar, sweetener, and cookie stir sticks.

If I was setting this coffee station up when hosting a party, I would leave the coffee creamer out on the counter, but since I don’t know if or when my friends and family will make their coffee, I prefer to keep my creamer safely in the refrigerator, exactly where I keep it for my own coffee everyday! Remember, I’m trying to help my guests feel at home, and they would have to get their creamer out of their fridge at home, too!

It might be nice to leave a small assortment of tea bags out for the guests that prefer tea.

Yes! I set this station up for a guest who was coming to visit who is a coffee lover, but if I wasn't sure if someone preferred coffee or tea, I would definitely set out both!
