The Big Game is quickly approaching and if you’re looking for some party ideas I’ve got a fun recipe for you! I know pizza and nachos are a couple of the more popular Big Game party eats, so I decided to mash them together and make Pizza Nachos! Simply replace the crust of pizza with tortilla chips and load it up with mozzarella cheese and supreme pizza toppings such as pepperoni, olives, peppers, and mushrooms! This appetizer is super easy and quick to make which is great if you’re hosting friends and family for the game and want to spend more time in front of the TV than in the kitchen! And if you’re NOT hosting a Big Game party, you can easily prep these pizza nachos on a baking sheet, cover with foil, then pop it in the oven and broil for a couple minutes when you arrive at the host’s house!
- 1 bag tortilla chips
- 8 oz First Street mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 can First Street sliced olives
- ½ cup pepperonis
- ½ cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
- green onions, diced
- 1 can First Street tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp herb mixture of garlic powder, basil, salt, pepper, and onion salt.
- Preheat your broiler, then lay out the tortilla chips on a baking sheet.
- Cover the chips with shredded mozzarella cheese, olives, pepperonis, sliced mushrooms, and diced bell pepper.
- Broil the nachos for 2-3 minutes or until cheese is melted and browning.
- As nachos broil, mix the herb mixture into the tomato sauce and pour into a dipping bowl.
- Remove the nachos from the oven and sprinkle with green onions.
I served my Pizza Nachos with pizza sauce on the side for dipping. If you put it directly on the tortilla chips before adding the cheese, you’ll just get a soggy mess, but to maintain the authenticity of the Pizza Nachos, be sure to include it on the side!
