A Pink, Donut Themed, Minnie Mouse Baby Shower

My friend is due with her first baby this month and since she’s having a girl and we both love the color pink, donuts, and Disneyland so much, I thought I would go with a pink, donut themed, Minnie Mouse baby shower. Right? How perfect is that?Minnie Mouse Baby Shower with Donuts - Legal Miss SunshineSo while I was doing my shopping, I stopped by the baby section and picked up some Disney Baby Minnie Mouse themed items. I knew I could put some into double-duty by making them work for both the party decor AND as a gift. So I picked up some Minnie Mouse themed crib sheets, bottles, pacifiers, a diaper bag, and a few other gifts.

Want to see which ones I made work double duty as decor? Check it out below:Minnie Mouse Baby Shower with Donuts - Legal Miss SunshineMinnie Mouse Baby Shower with Donuts - Legal Miss SunshineFirst, I took the Disney Baby Minnie Mouse crib sheets and reworked them into a fun bunting garland. The garland can be used at both the baby shower, and then again in the little girl’s nursery as wall decor (just be sure to not to hang it OVER the crib).

Want to make your own? I’ve got the DIY for you below. First you will need some supplies:Minnie Mouse Baby Shower with Donuts - Legal Miss SunshineMinnie Mouse Baby Shower with Donuts - Legal Miss SunshineMinnie Mouse Baby Shower with Donuts - Legal Miss SunshineThis bunting is super simple to make. Here are the instructions:

Note: If you’re a “no-sew” like me, grab some pinking shears, they make fabric looked finished when you don’t want to hem an edge and they make this bunting cut out super fast!

  • 1. First, cut out your triangles to your desired size. Once cut, notch the top edges so they will fold over the back and hide. See the above photo.
  • 2. Then iron your fabric and iron your fold over.
  • 3. Cut your ribbon or twine and place your triangles on the twine with the notched flap over the back.
  • 4. Using embroidery floss, stitch X’s on each corner of each triangle flag over  twine so the bunting triangle can move make and forth along the line, but is stuck on the twine.
  • 5. Hang and enjoy!

I then used another set of crib sheets as a table runner for the main table. And then I can simply wash the sheets, refold, and gift them to my friend to use in her crib.

And I used a couple of Minnie Mouse sippie cups as vases. Again, simply just wash them out after the party and gift them to your friend. Just be sure not to use the flower food in the mix when you arrange your bouquets.Minnie Mouse Baby Shower with Donuts - Legal Miss Sunshine

And I made some Minnie-shaped donuts for dessert!

And, I made some Minnie Mouse donut ears for all the “guests” to wear. They really tie in the Minnie Mouse and Donuts theme! Minnie Mouse Baby Shower with Donuts - Legal Miss SunshineLet me know in the comments your favorite things to gift your favorite Mama-to-Be!
