If you read my blog, then you’ve read that we get around 1,000 trick-or-treaters on Halloween Night. Since Halloween is on a Saturday this year, I’m worried that that number might be even higher this year! It’s definitely an event and NOT a quiet evening at home. We invite a few friends over because 1. it’s fun to hand out candy to kids and 2. we REALLY need the help! And so, I have to feed everyone! Last year I served macaroni and cheese for dinner, so this year I’m going to do homemade pizzas. And if we’re eating pizza, then we’re drinking Fanta Orange Soda! I swear, Fanta Orange Soda is the perfect pairing with pepperoni pizza. Trust me! And since it’s orange, I just have to turn it into a pumpkin! If you want to turn your Fanta Orange Soda into a Jack O’ Lantern, I’ve got the tutorial right here for you along with a downloadable stencil template.
There are two ways to apply the jack o’lantern. If you have a die-cutting machine, you can cut out the jack o’lantern shapes on vinyl and adhere the vinyl pieces to the Fanta Orange Soda bottle. If you do not have a die-cut machine, you can download this Fanta pumpkin stencil, cut out the shapes and use the stencil and a permanent marker or paint pen to color in the stencil and draw the jack o’lantern shapes onto the bottle. I’ll walk you through the paint pen method. You’re going to need a few supplies:
First, download this stencil, print it out full size, and cut along the dotted lines so your jack o’lantern face is all cut out.
Next, remove the Fanta Orange Soda label from the bottle and tape the stencil to the bottle. Then, using your paint pen, trace long the edges of the stencil and fill in the holes to draw the jack o’lantern face onto the bottle. Then remove the stencil/tape.
Luckily, the cap is already green, so to finish your bottle, add some green curling ribbon to the top of the bottle to make the stem. I always look for that pumpkin that has the little curlicue stem, so I decided my Fanta Orange Soda pumpkin needed a curlicue stem, too! What are your big plans for Halloween? Will you be carving a real jack o’lantern, a Fanta Orange Soda jack o’lantern, or both?
Wow!! That is a LOT of trick-or-treaters! I love that you turn it into a big party for your family, though! That’s great! And I love this idea, so easy but so festive too. My daughter just caught a glimpse of this and has informed me that we HAVE to do this for Halloween, so thanks for the inspiration!
