Mardi Gras Milkshakes // Coffee Milkshake w. Beignets
Mardi Gras Milkshakes // Coffee Milkshake w. Beignets
  • Beignets:
  • Cafe Du Monde Beignet Mix
  • 7 oz water
  • 1-2 cups of flour
  • Oil for frying
  • powdered sugar for sprinkling
  • Whipped Cream:
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • Milkshakes:
  • 4 cups vanilla ice cream
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 6 oz of double-strength brewed coffee, room temp or cold
  • handful of coffee beans (I used 6, you can use more if you like the taste of coffee)
  • chocolate sauce (optional)
  • hot fudge (not warmed) on the edge of glass as garnish
  • powdered sugar as garnish
  • coffee beans as garnish
  • ground coffee as garnish
  • optional: 1-2 ounces bourbon per milkshake, this recipe makes 3, so 3-6 ounces bourbon to make them boozy!
  1. Start by brewing your coffee and leave it out to cool or put it in the fridge to cool.
  2. Next, make your beignets, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
  3. Then make your whipped cream. Combine all 3 whipped cream ingredients from above into your chilled stand mixer bowl and whip on medium-low until peaks form.
  4. Next, garnish your glasses. Add hot fudge to rim, roll it in powdered sugar, tap off the excess, and then roll in coffee beans.
  5. Next, make your milkshake. Combine your vanilla ice cream, milk, coffee, and coffee beans in your blender and mix until smooth.
  6. If you want to add chocolate sauce inside the glass, add it now, then pour your milkshake into the glass, top with whipped cream, add your straw and noisemaker, thread two beignets on a skewer and add to the milkshake, then add a few dashes of ground coffee to the top as garnish.
  7. Enjoy!
