Strawberry Basil Limeade

- 2 cups strawberries, divided
- 8 cups water, divided
- 1¼ cup sugar
- 1 cup fresh lime juice (8-10 limes)
- 1 cup basil, divided
- 2 limes for garnish

- Wash the strawberries, then puree 1 cup strawberries with ⅓ cup basil in a blender with 1 cup of water.
- In a saucepan, combine the 1¼ cups of sugar with 1 cup of water and heat over medium until fully dissolved, about 12-15 minutes.
- While heating, juice your limes and slice your remaining cup of strawberries
- Then strain the pureed strawberry basil juice and fresh lime juice combine into a pitcher along with 6 cups of water.
- Add the sugar mixture and stir.
- Serve over ice, with extra basil leaves and sliced strawberries, and garnish with a lime wedge.
