We had the BEST time! We were on the trip for a total of 40 days as we drove across the lower states from California to North Carolina to visit the Mister’s parents and so the Mister could sort through/get rid of all his childhood toys. We then drove up to Chicago through Nashville and Louisville. From Chicago we did turn-by-turn Route 66 all the way to Los Angeles. In 40 days, we maybe had one tiny fight and it was because I wanted to retake a photo because I didn’t like the way I looked in it. I think the Mister was hangry. We spent a LOT of time together. When you find someone you travel well with, marry them!

Thank you so much for traveling along Route 66 with me! I hope you enjoyed it and I hope I inspired a few of you to hit the road! Route 66 will not be there forever. There are so many roadside ruins. I’m sure we could take the trip again in a few years and it will be a completely different trip, not only because of all of the things we missed, but also because all of the things that have deteriorated back into the earth.
