Send Some Sunshine in a Box

This post has been sponsored by American Greetings. All thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.

I love randomly sending “Just Because” or “Thinking of You” cards to friends. They are unexpected and really, it’s just so fun to receive snail mail these days! So when I saw this perfect card at Target the other day, I just knew I had to put together a little Sunshine in a Box to mail to a friend!

I’ve done it in the past for a birthday gift where the recipient was going to start unwrapping the gift, but she was looking for the card! She even said, “Where’s the card?” And I learned in that moment that you always have to include a card. It just completes the gift giving experience! Send Some Sunshine in a Box // Salty Canary Send Some Sunshine in a Box // Salty Canary If you would like to “Send Some Sunshine in a Box”, here’s everything I put in the box to give you a few ideas. Of course, you can send whatever you’d like or whatever you think the recipient would like, but to start out, I went with a little something happy for my friend to wear including a DIY iron-on Hello Sunshine tee-shirt, daisy sunglasses, and yellow flipflops. Send Some Sunshine in a Box // Salty Canary And then I included a little something for her to decorate her desk and add a little sunshine to her workplace including a DIY pom-pom garland and sunshine pennant. Send Some Sunshine in a Box // Salty Canary And, of course, I had to include something to eat and so that means candy! I found some yellow candies and instead of sending them in the original packaging (which wasn’t exclusively yellow), I put them into little cellophane bags and topped the bags with little strips of wrapping paper to pretty them up. Send Some Sunshine in a Box // Salty Canary And I wrapped it all up in a box that I wrapped with a couple different yellow wrapping papers. I wish I could just pop it the mail like that, but it would just get dirty and ruined, so I’ll be sure to put it into a slightly bigger box and maybe add some more pom-pom garlands before I mail it. Send Some Sunshine in a Box // Salty Canary Oh, and I didn’t want to forget the card, so I put the card on top!
