One of my favorite memories from being a kid is going to the mall with my Mom. We would go just the two of us to shop for something, but all I remember doing is stopping into Claire’s, the Hello Kitty store, looking at the puppies in the pet shop, and getting an Orange Julius. I couldn’t tell you what an Orange Julius is … is it orange juice? A smoothie? A milkshake? An orange creamsicle milkshake? All I can say is that it was delicious and I had to get one every single time. Well, I now avoid the mall at all costs and most Orange Julius stores have closed down, but I recently had a craving for one, so I decided to try a Homemade Orange Julius Recipe. After doing some research, I discovered that what makes an Orange Julius an Orange Julius is its creaminess and froth! It’s like a cross between orange juice and a frothy milkshake, but with more orange juice and sweeter than a milkshake.
If you would like to make one for yourself, you’re going to need a few ingredients:
- 13.5 oz of SunnyD
- ½ cup of milk
- ¼ cup of powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 Tbsp pasteurized egg whites
- 2 cups of ice cubes
- Combine all of the ingredients in your blender.
- Mix on medium for 20 seconds or until blended.
- Pour into glasses and enjoy!

Oh, I remember the Orange Julius and I especially remember SunnyD. What a great way to bring back some old favorites. #client
