The Mister and I like to sometimes stay in on the weekends and have a good ol’ movie night! And we loved setting up a mini viewing party for the Oscar winning Big Hero 6! Have you seen it? I fell in love with Baymax, the marshmallowy looking robot!
So I’ve put together a party plan so you can throw your very own Big Hero 6 movie night! Check out my Lucky Cat Cafe menu which includes salad with a Honey Lemon Dressing, crudités with a Wasabi Veggie Dip, Baymax Donuts with marshmallow frosting, and Hairy Baby Mochi ice cream! Oh, and a popcorn bar, because you can’t have a movie night without popcorn! Want the recipes? I’ve got them all below!
You know I love making donuts and how cute are these Baymax donuts? They have a marshmallow frosting glaze because Baymax reminds me of marshmallows! Oh, and I could have used my own Baymax healthcare companion when making these donuts. I was having a bad kitchen night (does that ever happen to you?) where I confused tablespoons for teaspoons and then burned my fingers on the deep fryer. On a scale of 1 to 10, it was definitely a 10. I was going to make pain scale donuts (you know, with the little faces), but since I was working one-handed with my left hand on ice, I had to simply stick with the Baymax faces.
Never made donuts before? Check out my donut tool list here and my basic yeast donut recipe here.
Ready to make the marshmallow frosting? The recipe is below. To make the Baymax donuts, simply dip your oval donut in the frosting, let dry and make sure 100% cooled off, then, using an icing pen, draw a line and two circles. Simple! Marshmallow Frosting Glaze

Ok, how about something a little healthier? Salad with Honey Lemon Dressing – get it? Honey Lemon? From Big Hero 6? The Mister has been complaining that I need to make some healthier eats on the blog (because he’s my taste tester!), so I finally listened!I’ve got the full recipe for you right here.
And keeping it on the healthier side, how about some crudités cups with a Wasabi Veggie Dip? Yep, continuing my food theme with more Big Hero 6 characters! The Mister LOVED this dip! (And he doesn’t like wasabi!) He’s my taste taster and he kept asking me when it was ready for him to eat.
And I’ve got the full recipe for you right here.
Now, don’t forget the popcorn! You can even set up a popcorn bar with different seasonings! If you’re looking for ideas, I’ve got some recipes for S’mores Popcorn, a Garlic Parmesan Popcorn, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Popcorn. And last, but not least, ice cream dessert! I was going to make Baymax Mochi ice cream, but unfortunately, couldn’t find vanilla mochi, so I went with mango Hairy Baby Mochi ice cream! If you think that sounds gross, watch the movie and then you will totally get it! To make them, I used the same black icing pen from the Baymax donuts and drew on little ears, eyes, nose, mouth, and whiskers. Easy.
The Mister and I don’t have kiddos, but a Disney movie is fun for all ages, and the Mister is an illustrator/animator with tons of animator friends, so we’re all ready to go with this spread to host a movie night viewing party!
Now that’s a movie party that I want to come to! I love how cute these donuts turned out! For the record, I want to eat the “H”…it just looks particularly delicious. Thanks for sharing all of these awesome ideas…oh, and I hope the hand is feeling better! #client
Such a cute idea!!
