The Best Vintage Signs along Route 66

Sometimes I’m not sure which comes first, the blog post or the Instagram post?! I was planning to post a Route 66 photo on Instagram for #throwbackthursday and I couldn’t figure out which sign I wanted to post – so I figured, “why not post my favorites on the blog?” So here’s my top 12 vintage signs of Route 66 in no particular order. Oh, and if you’re planning a Route 66 trip, you can find all my Route 66 blog posts right here if you’re looking for where to stop, where to eat, what to see, etc. The Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe Palamino is my favorite sign hands down. Remember three sentences ago when I said “no particular order?” I lied. I love the colors, the horse, the cacti, the price, and the “remodel rooms.” The Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryNext up? Tee Pee Curios souvenir shop. The Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe neon sign reads Tepee Curios, the wall reads Tee Pee Curious. Which is it? I don’t know and I don’t care. The neon cow skull above the door? I want one for my house. The Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryHere are a few more faves: The Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe Blue Swallow is a beauty! The Best Vintage Signs along Route 66 // Salty CanaryThe Midpoint Cafe has this awesome sign to celebrate the halfway point of Route 66 and, of course, I wanted a photo. There was a stand available so you could use a self-timer, so I started to set up the camera and the mister suggested we stand on the bench behind the sign and I agreed. With the timer set, I ran behind the sign, stepped up on the bench … and realized I was too short. ? But it’s become my favorite photo from the trip!
