For my birthday last month, we escaped LA for a bit and spent some time relaxing in the California desert. It was a nice couple of days full of Joshua trees, geodesic domes, cake, sound baths, and one giant rock. 
Our desert digs was an Airbnb stay at the Dome in the Desert, an adorable little renovated geodesic dome with a welcoming yellow front door. Decorated in bohemian, mid-century modern decor, the dome was a lovely escape from our busy lives. 
It served as an excellent basecamp for our day excursions which included some thrifting/antiquing in Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley, dinner at Pappy & Harriet’s in Pioneertown, and a sound bath at the Integratron. Plus, we spent some time relaxing at the dome – reading, drawing, palm reading, cake eating (it WAS my birthday!), and star gazing at night! 
Seriously, how cute is the inside? The owners did such a great job renovating this little dome. I highly recommend a stay at the Dome in the Desert if you need a few days out of town or even if you’re planning a visit to California and want to experience our beautiful deserts! While we did relax at the Dome on one of our days, we didn’t get a chance to really use the Dome to it’s full inspirational potential. We would love a “writers’ retreat” return trip and really work on writing, music, inspiration (while also hiking in the national park, exploring cacti, more star gazing, etc.). Hopefully we’ll return sooner rather than later!
