This year, I will be sending Valentine’s Day Cards to my friends and family. Why? Because I couldn’t get my act together at Christmas this year to send holiday cards. And it wasn’t just this year. I couldn’t get my act together last year either. And instead of feeling guilty about it, I’m just going to start sending Valentine’s Day Cards instead. Plus, my card is going to stand out! I mean, how many Christmas cards do you receive? Now, how many Valentine’s Day cards do you receive?
Spoiler Alert: if you know me in real life and think you might get a Christmas card from me, then you would probably get a Valentine’s Day card from me which means you should stop reading now. Just wait for your valentine in the mail. Or keep reading and ruin it, which is exactly what I do with The Bachelor and Reality Steve every season and I never regret it.
But I can’t take the credit for this genius idea. I was inspired by Julia Child. I love Julia! She was from Pasadena and she didn’t learn how to cook until she was 36! When it came to Christmas cards, Julia said, “Valentine cards had become a tradition of ours, born of the fact that we could never get ourselves organized in time to send out Christmas cards.” You and me both, Julia! So Julia and her husband would send photo postcards to their friends and family every year. This year, since we’re just starting the tradition, we decided to reenact one of the Child’s cards and we were inspired by their paper heart valentine.
Lucky for you, we did NOT recreate their famous 1956 bathtub. I can’t say for same for future years.
Now let’s check out these beautiful Valentine’s Day Cards from Minted. You might be wondering why I had cards printed from Minted when I could have just had the Mister design them … and the answer to that circles back to the non-existent Christmas cards: sometime’s you just need to go with a pre-done design. Plus, Minted has some gorgeous designs, and did I mention GOLD FOIL (!!!). Also, wrap-around address labels!
And did you know that Minted offers FREE recipient envelope addressing? I didn’t get my act together in time to take advantage of it (Really? What else is new?), so I’ll be hand-addressing each of my cards, but if you order, you should take advantage of this free offer.
Do you ever “forget” to send out Christmas cards? Would you send Valentine’s Day Cards instead? Let me know in the comments!
