Did you see my Mardi Gras Milkshakes? They are coffee milkshakes with beignets as the garnish – perfect for Mardi Gras! And the recipe is right here. But you’re going to need to serve them in fancy, costumed glasses, and I’ve got that tutorial below. DIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryI was able to try Cricut’s foil adhesive which is so easy to work with and so shiny! It quickly glammed up my milkshake glasses and made them ready for Mardi Gras! DIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryDIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryIf you want to make your own glasses (for milkshakes or otherwise), I’ve got the tutorial right here. You’re going to need a few supplies including the Cricut Explore Air™, Cricut’s Foil Adhesive, Cricut’s Weeder Tool, Cricut Design Space™, and your project (glasses, coffee mugs, favor bags, etc.). DIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryThen you need to layout your design in Cricut’s Design Space. I went with two masks which are available in Design Space for a small fee and I added the Fat Tues Day text using the “Add Text Tool.” I measured my glasses and determined my sizing could only be about 2″ wide at most, so I sized my designs accordingly and got the colors ready so that everything would cut on the correct foil adhesives. Then I pressed “Go!” DIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryNext, I cut my 3 different foil adhesives to size. I used purple, gold, and silver. Then I laid the gold foil adhesive on my cutting mat and loaded it into the Cricut Explore. I then made sure that my cutting dial was set to “Custom” and I chose the Foil Adhesive setting within Cricut Design Space. Then I hit “Go” and let it cut. And they all cut out perfectly! DIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryNext, I used my Cricut Weeding Tool to “weed” out all of the adhesive that I was NOT going to attach to the glasses. It was a lot of tiny wedges, but it only took a few minutes and I did this as the other colors were cutting to speed up the process. Then I applied my gold base mask to the glass, followed by the purple mask, then the silver edging mask was applied to the top. DIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryDIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryThey look so professional, almost like they were professionally printed, and you wouldn’t even know that there are 3 layers of foil on there. DIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryNext, I made my milkshakes. Again, you can find the Mardi Gras Milkshake recipe right hereDIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryDIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryAnd they were some of my favorite milkshakes I’ve made so far! I don’t normally like coffee, but I loved the flavor of these milkshakes! And the little masks and Fat Tuesday lettering really made them feel like a party. DIY Mardi Gras Milkshake Glasses // Salty CanaryAnd if you’d like to turn your milkshake glasses into party glasses, you can learn more about the Cricut Explore Air™ right here.
