These DIY Peppermint Cooling Wipes are perfect to take along with you on any hot summer day. Going to a theme park this summer? You need these. Daytime sporting event? You need these. Just running errands around town but it’s a sweltering 110 degrees out? You definitely need these.
The peppermint within the wipes really activates a cooling sensation on your skin so even the lightest of breezes will cool you off. A quick wipe across the back of the neck and the wrists and you’re good to go again!
Seriously. My husband nearly had a meltdown (pun intended) during a hot summer day at the county fair last summer until I whipped one of these badboys out of my purse and told him to wipe down. They refreshed him and totally saved the day!
Here’s the “recipe” and instructions:
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1 tsp aloe vera (mine is clear, not green)
- 2 tsp Nature’s Truth Sweet Almond Base Oil
- 20 drops Nature’s Truth Peppermint Essential Oil
- Dry floor cleaning cloths
- Sandwich bags
- Baby-sized washcloths (optional)
- Mini spray bottle (optional)
Instructions:
To make these, you simply whisk together the wet ingredients in a bowl, then dip a dry floor cleaning cloth into the mixture, carefully wring out of the excess water, then fold up the cooling wipe and place it into a sealed sandwich baggy. Repeat for however many cooling wipes you want. Then take them out into the hot, hot days of summer to cool down.
If you don’t like using disposable wipes, you can also use baby-sized washcloths instead and then wash and re-use them. And with the leftover mixture, I filled up a mini-spray bottle for using around the house after doing yard work or cleaning out the garage (which I need to do!). If you use it in a spray-bottle, be sure to be extra careful and avoid contact with eyes, mouth, irritated skin, open cuts, and/or any mucus membranes.
