A few weeks ago, we celebrated the Salty Twins with a baby shower and below, I’m sharing all the details of our Twin Baby Shower Fiesta which included tacos, pinatas, a gender reveal cake (because we don’t shoot things or start fires), and some silly baby shower games!
Twin Baby Shower Fiesta
We decided on a co-ed baby shower fiesta which was hosted by the future grandparents in my mom’s backyard. My husband was NOT a fan of a co-ed baby shower idea at first, but I pointed out to him that it’s the new trend, that there were going to be tacos and beer, and I assured him I would NOT open presents.
Because we made it a co-ed affair, I needed a space big enough to host and I needed tasty, but inexpensive food to feed everyone. So we ended up with a Taco Fiesta theme and had it catered with a taco cart! (Those little street tacos are SO good!) I knew that decorations would be easy with piñatas and cacti, and everything went so well with the colors of my mom’s backyard.
I actually like some shower games, maybe because I’m super competitive, but I hate filling out those games like “Guess when the babies will be born, their weight, height, eye color, etc.” or “How big is the Mom-to-Be’s belly?” So instead, we had a diaper raffle (because with twins, we’re going to be changing A LOT of diapers!) and we had a Gender Guessing Game with a Gender Reveal cake after lunch along with Golden Bottle Trophies with gift cards for all of the winners!
How cute is that Mama Avocado piñata?!?
What’s your guess? Boy/Boy? Girl/Girl? Or a boy and a girl?
We’re having a little boy and a little girl!! My mom said she was shocked that guests were truly surprised at the gender reveal. She thought I had given it away based on my baby registry. Boys can wear pink, too, Mom!
These kiddos only have eyes for sugar! They were ALL over that cake as soon as I cut it!
And then after cake, we played the game of Labor or Porn! I saw this game online while I helping the future grandmas plan the shower and I thought I would try and shock my Mother-in-Law with this game, but she thought it was funny! I can tell you that it was a crowd pleaser!
Here’s my Mother-in-Law laughing as she and my Father-in-Law guess the answers.
And of course no good fiesta is complete without a piñata! I didn’t think it was right to whack at the cute baby and mama avocado piñatas, so I picked up a couple donkey piñatas to fill with candy. Two because twins, right?
This poor guy has no idea of what is coming for him!
The kids, both big and small, had a good time taking whacks at the donkeys!
And the entire theme was inspired by my Minted invitations! I found these darling Ombre Piñata Birthday Invitations and rephrased the wording to make them into baby shower invitations! One of my favorite things about Minted is that you can order pre-addressed envelopes with your invitations which make them so easy to just stuff, stamp, and send!
And, I was also able to order the thank you cards at the same time! They aren’t part of a matched set, but I thought these Piñata Thank You Cards were perfect!
